Disney World Resort Options
Disney resorts are divided into three basic categories. The main differences in the categories that you will find here, will be in the amenities offered, the average room size, and their price per night.
Deluxe Resorts:
These are Disney’s top-of-the-line resort offerings. The rooms will be the most spacious, they will offer the most dining options, and have the most amenities available. They will also be the most expensive.
- Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Beach Club Resort
- Boardwalk Inn
- Contemporary Resort
- Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
- Polynesian Village Resort
- Wilderness Lodge

Moderate Resorts:
Moderate resorts, as you may guess, are a step down from the deluxe category and a step above the value resorts as far as amenities, available dining, and room size. These resorts vary greatly from one another, not only in their theming, but in the acreage that the resort spans. Keep that in mind when you are choosing. There may be a long walk involved to get to the main dining area, or the bus stops.
- Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort
- Caribbean Beach Resort
- Coronado Springs Resort
- Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
- Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
Value Resorts:
Value resorts will be your least expensive option, however, they will also be the smallest rooms with the least amount of dining options available. If you will be spending most of your time in the parks, and room size is not a concern, then these may be the right fit for you! The pools at the value resorts all have super cute themes, the kids love them.
- All-Star Movies Resort
- All-Star Music Resort
- All-Star Sports Resort
- Art of Animation
- Pop Century
Campground:
- Campsites at Fort Wilderness Resort
Shades of Green:
- A special military-owned resort located on Disney World property. This one is located in the Magic Kingdom area near the Polynesian. It is super beautiful, and very reasonably priced for those who qualify to stay there.
Staying Off Property:
- Lots of pros and cons to review when you look at staying off property. Larger groups may benefit from staying off property, as well as those who may not be spending a lot of time at the parks and prefer to eat off property.
- Watch for some in depth discussions in the near future about off property choices.
