Disney Reopening Updates

Disney has announced that it will begin a phased reopening of the parks starting on July 11th with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. This will be followed by EPCOT and Hollywood Studios on July 15th.

The parks will look much different when they begin opening, and here’s what we know so far:

  • The parks will be operating at a reduced capacity
  • A park reservation will be required in addition to a park ticket in order to enter.
  • Disney will be utilizing a new theme park reservation system in order to manage park reservations
  • A Disney resort reservation does not guarantee access to the parks.
  • All previously held dining and event reservations have been cancelled.
  • All Disney Dining plans have been cancelled through September 26, 2021.
  • The new advanced dining reservation window is now 60 days.
  • Priority access to rebooking reservations will be given to those guests who previously held reservations.
  • When the parks initially open, there will be no character meet and greets, however, there will be characters in the parks.
  • When the parks initially open, there will be no fast pass ride reservations (this is to provide extra queue space for social distancing)
  • The parades, fireworks, and other entertainment that tends to cause crowd gathering have temporarily been suspended.
  • There will be temperature checks prior to park entry.
  • All guests over the age of 2yrs must where a face mask while in the park or in the common areas of resort hotels.
