California Grill Dinner and Fireworks
Located at the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, this dining destination offers fantastic food, amazing views, and top notch service. Make Time For Magic ranks the California Grill as an 8 out of 10 in terms of valuable use of that vacation time.
This restaurant provides a very upbeat atmosphere, and makes for a great date night location. There is a full bar offering cocktails and a very impressive wine selection.
A bread service is provided, and for an appetizer, we highly recommend the sushi rolls. They are fresh, and just melt in your mouth.

Fireworks viewing:
If you happen to secure a reservation that will have you dining while the Happily Ever After Magic Kingdom fireworks are taking place, then you will be treated to a view of the show while you dine. The lights will dim in the restaurant and the music will be piped in. There are, however, only a limited number of tables that offer any kind of visibility while you are seated. An outdoor viewing area is provided for those who are interested, and you can expect views similar to the ones provided below:
While the show is a great treat to enjoy while you dine, I would recommend this dining location for the food, atmosphere, and exceptional service over the fireworks viewing. If you have never seen the show, the experience of viewing it from the park is a must. If you are looking for viewing locations outside of the park, you might try the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, or grabbing a spot on the beach at the Polynesian Resort.
Overall, we recommend Disney’s California Grill as a good use of your valuable vacation time.
