
Animal Kingdom
This amazing theme park for animal lovers opened on April 22, 1998. Spanning over 500 acres, the Animal Kingdom in Disney World is home to about 2000 animals. The park also maintains its own zoo hospital, which is one of the leading zoo hospitals in North America.
Park Overview:
The Animal Kingdom in Disney World is divided into four lands which surround Discovery Island. The lands are separated from Discovery Island by the Discovery River. As you enter the park, you will first walk through an Oasis of tropical gardens and pathways that will lead you to the island where you will access the lands via pathways crossing the river.
